The Harrison Fisher Gallery of Gloved Ladies
Harrison Fisher was, along with Charles Dana Gibson, one of America's preeminent illustrators in the late Victorian and Edwardian periods. He had a keen eye for women's fashions, and in my opinion few artists before or since have depicted the opera glove with more elegance or skill, or in such a wide variety of settings. Through viewing these lovely paintings and the elegant ladies therein, you will come to a better understanding of just how indispensable the mousquetaire was to the fin-de-siecle woman of fashion.
