Red-headed Jeanette MacDonald is almost literally synonymous with the musicals of the 1930's. Along with her longtime partner (and lover; their story could almost have come straight out of one of their movies) Nelson Eddy, she sang her way through a series of great comedies and dramas during the 1930's and early 1940's.
