A "Jane Austen Evening" in Opera Gloves

Just as many people enjoy recreating the battles of the American Civil War, many others enjoy recreating the elegance of the Regency era. Every year, a group of these kindred spirits gets together for what's variously called "An Austen Evening" an "Evening with Jane Austen", or "The Jane Austen Tea and Ball", after Jane Austen, the preeminent author of the manners and morals of the period. For the Love of Opera Gloves, with the kind permission of The Regency Fashion Page, republishes some pictures from these events in which the female participants are wearing...opera gloves!
